after an @action item is completed..

How could Trunk be improved?

after an @action item is completed..

Hello,

Me again :)

I noticed in 2.4.2 there will be 'Easier Formatting' which I think is a great addition. I thought about something that will be good to add to the formatting menu: Strikethrough.

After an action item is completed what do you do to clear it out of the @action function so that it no longer appears on the HomePage? Currently I would cut the action phrase, call the snippet for strikethrough and paste back in the line then add @action to the next one in line..

A better idea is something that was possible on a no longer supported wiki app called Note Studio. Once an item was checked off, it automatically gets inserted where 'archives' appear on a page usually below the same page with all the @actions so that it is not on the first line of the action list. The next line appears on the todo list automatically after the first line is checked off and archived. Does this make sense? Currently, there is a lot of manual work involved.

The ability for a completed @action item to be checked off from the HomePage, moved to the archive page and the next @action item automatically appearing on HomePage will be SO helpful. I hope this is not a pipe dream for something in the nearish future! Thanks for listening..

I agree with the need for automation when it comes to what to do with completed tasks, and this issue has also been brought up here:

Hi all,

I work around this by beginning all my todos with an "@" sign and when I complete one, I replace the "@" with an "X". I think I learned this from a Note Studio user in the past. Wherever I list my todos, e.g. a @Home context page, I create another list for "done" items:

## To do at home:

{{action @Home}}

## "Done" Items

{{action XHome}}

This will work, of course, when the "action" function is repaired. Mine is currently out of order. :-(

Thanks. Exchanging X and @ does work to turn a todo "off" and "on" in an {{action}} list, and I will use it to see how I like it.

However, I still think it would be better incorporated into a single tap like the idea of using the checkbox.

Not sure why you guys go to all this work to try to make a wiki app a ToDo app. I do GTD with ToDo 4, which does it all perfectly.

Don't get me wrong, I love this wiki app, but it's just not a ToDo app. I find it much more useful for other things.

Yes, there are perhaps other apps better at specific tasks, like ToDo, or Audio Recording, but I guess we (or at least I) like the Swiss Army Knife idea of trying to wrap everything into one app, with all it's contents able to be synced/stored locally on my computer, which is why I'm interested in having TN be not just a wiki, but a ToDo, and an enhanced audio recorder/organizer (see my other posts).

I think because TN has user interaction at a level closer to 'code' than other apps, it prompts users to think beyond Wiki, to have it do many other things, which it can. I believe this is one of the best things about TN.
