Left / Right Navigation Arrows to allow easier editing

How could Trunk be improved?

Left / Right Navigation Arrows to allow easier editing

Postby digitaldoctor » Wed May 04, 2011 11:41 pm

I found editing notes a bit difficult. At times, I could almost get to the location I wanted to edit, but just be off one character. I wanted a [Delete] key, but I can only see a [backspace] key.

I saw an iphone notes app that has these arrows.
Certainly might be something to think about in a UI redesign.

Many apps are now providing a customisable row of keys above the main keyboard - for example Textastic, Nebulous Notes, ... I will be investigating doing something similar for Trunk Notes in the near future.

If you could make that user configurable, that would be fantastic!!!

Perhaps even allowing Snippets to act as "macros"?

+1 for the customisable key toolbar.
+1 for the ability to insert snippets as macros.

Another common solution is to allow users to tap in the right and left margins to move the cursor (but currently there are no margins in Trunknotes)

That is one of the most wanted features in Trunk Notes - IMHO!
The Textastic App (http://www.textasticapp.com/) has a very nice way of implementing cursor movement, mark text etc.
Other apps too - eg. Byword, Day One etc.
